J.H. Cohn's Goldmann to Discuss SEC Accounting, Financial Statement Requirements

New York, NY – Kenneth Nielsen Goldmann, CPA, Partner and Capital Markets and SEC Practice Director at J.H. Cohn LLP, will speak at the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) seminar, Basic Securities Law for the Business Practitioner, on June 10 at the Affinia Manhattan Hotel in New York City. The event is co-sponsored by the Committee on Securities Regulation of the Business Law Section and the Committee on Continuing Legal Education of the New York State Bar Association.
 
The program will present a broad overview of and an analysis of the latest developments in securities law, and is designed to give a basic understanding of key securities law concepts. Mr. Goldmann will be part of a panel entitled “Securities Act and Exchange Act Liability,” where he will discuss such accounting issues as the transition to SEC accounting, financial statements required for public and private offerings, and Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A). 
 
With more than 35 years of diversified public accounting experience, Mr. Goldmann is frequently sought for his knowledge of current industry issues.  He has been quoted in such leading business publications as Compliance Week, CFO, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Online on topics related to public companies.  He has also contributed to articles in Financial Executive and Financial Week.  He has presented to NASDAQ, and in May 2008, testified before the Department of Treasury’s Advisory Committee in Washington, D.C. on the auditing profession.
