11/13/2008
The J.H. Cohn Professional Women’s Program recently hosted “Defining Moments: The Bridge to Your Success,” a conference for the accounting and consulting firm’s professional women in its New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut offices. In addition, for the first time, a second full-day conference, “Emotional Intelligence: A Key to Business and Personal Success,” was held for the Firm’s California offices.
At the East Coast conference, held in Woodbridge, NJ, motivational speaker Gail Blanke, bestselling author of “In My Wildest Dreams, Living the Life You Long For,” presented the keynote. A panel also shared how they embraced possibilities and took risks that have enabled them to achieve success and reach their aspirations. The panelists were Christine A. Amalfe, an attorney and partner at Gibbons P.C.; Jessica Bede, president and CEO of Capintec, Inc.; Donna M. Griffin, senior vice president and director of global process at Chubb & Sons, Inc.; Angela Kubisky, assistant vice president of marketing and business development for Garden Savings Federal Credit Union; and Orit, president and CEO The O Group.
The J.H. Cohn Professional Women’s Program helps to recruit, retain, and advance the Firm’s more than 360 professional women. Launched in 2005 with its first conference, the program has evolved into a multi-faceted initiative that addresses women’s unique personal and career objectives through professional development opportunities. It also features publications, seminars, online resources, and mentoring opportunities.
