Leveraging Passion During A Career Transition Is a Secret to Success

5/18/2009

Los Angeles, CA – Finding a career you’re passionate about and blazing an entrepreneurial trail is possible in any economy with the right mindset, says Scott M. Sachs, CPA, Regional Managing Partner – Greater Los Angeles of Good Swartz Brown & Berns, A Division of J.H. Cohn.

Sachs recently spoke to fellow accounting and consulting professionals at a career strategies workshop about how they can leverage a career transition to find entrepreneurial success in a career they love, whether by starting their own business or by structuring their ideal job within an organization.

“In an economy such as the one we’re in now, it’s easy to think that the ‘safe’ option is to put off pursuing a new career path or business venture, but in reality, some of the greatest companies and greatest successes have been born under similar economic circumstances, including Microsoft, IBM, UPS, and even Wikipedia,” commented Sachs.

“Undertaking a new venture can be intimidating, but an economic downturn creates phenomenal opportunity for someone whose job has been downsized or outsourced,” he continued. “If you have an idea you’re passionate about—whether it’s starting your own company or tweaking your current role into something that truly excites you—drive will take you far.”
