Michael F. Ozen Joins GSBB/J.H. Cohn Partnership

Michael F. Ozen, CPA, has joined Good Swartz Brown & Berns, A Division of J.H. Cohn (GSBB/J.H. Cohn), as a partner specializing in international and domestic corporate tax issues. J.H. Cohn is one of the top 15 accounting and consulting firms in the United States.
He most recently served as a tax partner at a large national accounting firm, where he specialized in international and domestic taxation and served as a member of that firm’s International Tax Executive Committee and International Services Executive Committee. Prior to that, he served as chief financial officer at a Los Angeles-area law firm, where he oversaw all finance, accounting, tax, and treasury functions, and as chief financial officer/vice president of finance at an international venture capital-backed software development firm.

Michael attended the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he received his MBA, with a concentration in finance, marketing, and corporate strategy, from its Graduate School of Business. He also received a Bachelor of Accounting degree, with a concentration in accounting and corporate law, and a Bachelor of Commerce, with a concentration in economics, business economics, and law from the University of the Witwatersrand. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and previously held his Chartered Accountant designation in South Africa. In the community, he is a prior board member and CFO of both The Clubhouse Children’s Museum and The New Museum for Children in Los Angeles, and held AISEC trainee positions in Istanbul (Turkey) and Toronto (Canada). He also served as an accounting students representative at his alma mater.
