Real Estate: Building Green
11/03/2010
Governments - Federal, state, and local alike - have launched incentive programs for those who develop, build, and manage "green" buildings that conserve natural resources. Voluntary rating systems such as the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Building Rating System ("LEED"), from the U.S. Green Building Council, provide commonly accepted standards for "green" building standards, from professional accreditation tiers to building metrics, to help developers not only boost their "green" quotient, but also qualify for Federal tax deductions.
