Saying You’re In Compliance Is Not Enough

Recently expanded SOX requirements include a more comprehensive annual certification of the effectiveness of a company’s internal controls for registrants of all sizes. In many cases, the high volume of filings has put CFOs on “autopilot.” But, with government officials pursuing certification violations with increasing vigor, there needs to be a shift away from the rubber stamp mentality.
